Sonos has just unveiled the Roam SL, a 430 g mono portable speaker that looks like two drops of water to the Sonos Roam, but costs 179 euros instead of 199 euros. Like the original model, it can be used as a Bluetooth speaker, but also in a multiroom at home thanks to its Wi-Fi interface. In addition, it is AirPlay 2 compatible.

On the other hand, the Roam SL does not have a microphone. Which means you can’t use it with voice assistants from Amazon or Google. More troublesome, she loses the function true play automatic, which continuously adapts the sound to the topology of the room and the audio content. It also loses the function sound swap which transmits the sound broadcast to the nearest Sonos device in your multiroom system.

Like the Roam, the Roam SL has touch controls, is shock resistant and can be temporarily submerged (IP67 certification). According to the manufacturer, it offers more than 10 hours of autonomy.
