Sometimes a bunch of keys gives access to the places

City beekeeper Chris from Woerden only has a small bunch of keys. His most important key? The one from the fence where his bees are behind. He has 22 colonies and – completely against the national trend – they are doing very well! Forty years ago Chris got his first colony and – as he says – he became “completely crazy” about the bees. He cuddles with them, experiences a bond with all peoples and worries in the city about enough food for ‘his’ bees. “City bees are doing quite well. Sometimes there is more food for them in the city than in the countryside. Especially if there is only grass there, well then there is little to be had.”
