So many Swedes fake orgasm: “It also benefits men”

That both men and women fake orgasm during sex may come as no surprise, but the percentage of men who climax during intercourse is still far greater than that of women. This is shown by a new survey carried out by Kantar Sifo on behalf of LELO.

An “orgasm gap”

A consequence of this orgasm gap is that more women than men fake orgasm. Despite this, it is not more difficult for women than men to have an orgasm, something that has previously been socially accepted.

– As long as there is a focus on penetration in sex and we see other sex as “foreplay”, it is common that the woman does not achieve sufficient excitement to have an orgasm. Skip the foreplay idea and see all sex as “real” sex. It also benefits men, who can then release the performance focus around standing and ejaculation, says the sex inspiration Marika Smithin a press release from LELO.

7 percent of the men surveyed state that they have faked an orgasm with their current partner. The same figure for women was 24 percent. Regarding previous partners, 12 percent of the men had faked an orgasm and 35 percent of the women.

In total, the survey showed that 14 percent of Swedes had ever faked an orgasm with their current partner, and 22 percent had faked an orgasm with a previous partner.
