Six Nations Police avoid head-on collisions twice in two days

A 54-year-old Ohsweken woman is facing several charges after a near head-on collision.

Six Nations Police say officers on patrol at about 7:45 pm on Friday, November 17 had to pull over to the shoulder of Cayuga Road to avoid an oncoming vehicle in their lane.

The driver continued on the wrong side of the road, starting and stopping several times.

Officers approached when the vehicle stopped, saw the driver get out, and noticed signs of impairment.

The driver was taken into custody and began threatening police, said a media release

The accused is charged with impaired operation, alcohol per se offense 80-plus, dangerous driving, operation while prohibited, and two counts of uttering threats.

Woman faces loads

A 20-year-old Ohsweken woman faces charges after almost flipping her car over on Oak Street in Ohsweken.

Six Nations Police on patrol Saturday, November 18 at about 11:20 pm had to pull over to avoid colliding with a vehicle being driven erratically at a high rate of speed.

Officers saw a passenger exit the vehicle, while another occupant complained of an injury.

Passengers were treated at hospital for minor injuries.

The female driver was taken into custody and charged with dangerous driving and alcohol per se offense.
