Frogwares is the sequel to The Sinking City series. The Sinking City 2announced the development of . It comes after the game was announced at Gamescom 2020, and at a time when the studio took back full control over The Sinking City in January. This sequel, which will be released in 2025, has a horror-first focus and is set in a flooded New England city.

The Sinking City 2 will be a game that will not completely abandon the detective elements, but will include optional detection mechanisms as well as exploration and combat. “While the game offers tangible bonuses, the focus will be on fighting monsters and finding useful debris. This new approach stands out with its Lovecraftian atmosphere and story and allows the game to differentiate itself from Sherlock Holmes detective games,” said lead producer Denys Chebotarov.
The Sinking City 2 will take place in a new city called Arkham and will be different from the Oakmont location in the original game. The atmosphere and horror elements of the game are enriched with elements such as abandoned hospitals, flooded markets and decaying mansions. Taking players on an immersive adventure with a new hero and a different story, The Sinking City 2 brings together Frogwares’ weakness for horror games and the studio’s mastery of detective games.

This approach will enable the game to innovatively blend horror and detective elements, offering new and exciting experiences to fans of the series.
