The passenger ship Marco Polo has run aground in the water between Stilleryd and Hörvik. The alarm came at 06.25 and the ship was on its way between Trelleborg and Karlshamn.

Three boats from the Sea Rescue Association are on site to help the ship and more units are on their way, the Air and Sea Rescue Center states.

It is said to be calm on site and there are currently no reports of injuries.

The Marco Polo, operated by TT Line, can carry 215 passengers but it is unclear how many are on board.
