Between 40 and 60 vehicles, including several large trucks, are said to have been involved in the crash on the Interstate 55 highway in southern Illinois, according to the local police authority, according to Reuters. The accident must have happened about twelve miles north of the city of St. Louis.
About 30 people were reportedly taken to hospital on Monday and the highway remains closed in both directions.
