Serverdown for Update 7.0.5.3 – All times and info

Today, May 9th, is Destiny 2 update day again and this is bad news for many players, because they won’t be able to immerse themselves in the world of Destiny 2 for some time. You can find out exactly what’s coming up and how long the server down will last on MeinMMO.

What you need to know today: Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, is known for regularly releasing updates and patches to the game to fix bugs and add new features.

  • If Destiny 2 goes offline again today, Guardians will not be able to access the loot shooter or related features for the duration of the server down.
  • In this article, we’ll look at the reasons for today’s server down and what players can expect from Destiny 2 when they log back in. MeinMMO will also provide you with current information on the update progress during the downtime in an info box.

    Update history to patch 7.0.5.3:

7:00 p.m.: The patch notes are here. We’ll link them to you further down in the article. Unfortunately no good news for the sound bug.

Destiny 2 has woken up again for this. On the PC, the download of update 7.0.5.3 is 100.02 MB in total. Once you have downloaded it you can log in again. But keep in mind – the background maintenance will continue until 20:00.

6:15 p.m.: Destiny 2 servers are now offline. Now it’s time to wait until 7 p.m. and hope that everything goes according to plan.

17:00 o’clock: Bungie has started background maintenance for Update 7.0.5.3. This means that from now on there may be small rumbles or server losses in the game. You now have 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete your activities before Bungie goes into downtime.

Maintenance on 09.05. – All times to the server down

These times are important today: Bungie has informed players of the exact times via Twitter. The planned downtime will be 45 minutes.

Here is the exact maintenance schedule:

  • At 5:00 p.m. German time, maintenance work will start in the background on all platforms.
  • From 6:15 p.m. the servers will go offline and players will be automatically kicked from all activities.
  • Update 7.0.5.3 will be rolled out on all platforms during this time and can be downloaded.
  • Officially, the servers will be back online around 7:00 p.m.
  • Continuous background maintenance will end at 20:00 if all goes well. During this time you can already gamble again.
  • Important: As long as the background maintenance is running, there may be connection problems in the game again and again. You may also have to expect queues when logging in immediately after the update.

Also, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may also not be accessible correctly for a while, preventing you from using them.

This changes with Hotfix 7.0.5.3 in Season 20

The patch brings that today: During the server down, the game will be updated to the latest version and some changes and improvements will be made. These can range from small adjustments to major updates and new content.

MeinMMO lists issues that Bungie is already aware of, as well as those that our readers have brought to our attention. However, only the patch notes show what will be fixed.

  • The description of the normal Domination matchmaking node is missing.
  • Some Guardian Games quests can only be completed with Bronze Medals or Medals from the Vanguard Guardian Games Leisure Playlist.
  • The wisher does not penetrate advanced phalanx or hydra shields.
  • In Twilight Lake of Shadows, wiping out in the boss area will cause some enemies and champions to respawn in a previous area, blocking platinum rewards.
  • Some gilded titles are no longer gilded and some associated triumphs have been marked as incomplete.
  • Even the latest title of the Guardian Games 2023 “Champ” cannot be gold-plated at the moment.
  • The Aspect of the String Hunter Binding Impact does not trigger some class ability mods.
  • Upgrading a Masterwork weapon appears as if you get +20 to base stat, when in reality you can only get +10 to base stat.
  • Using 3 copies of the same Resilience armor mod gives no advantage over using 2 copies of the same mod.
  • There are reports that Radiant no longer stuns barrier champions.
  • Fire sprites can no longer be spawned by grenade kills.
  • The sound bug has only been improved, but not completely fixed.
  • Player name changes are not infinitely customizable through bungie.net. Several “Number Guardians” are still waiting here for the option to change their player name again instead of getting the message “You don’t have any name changes available”.
  • Patch Notes for Hotfix 7.0.5.3 in Destiny 2

What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the comprehensive list of all changes to Hotfix 7.0.5.1 in the form of patch notes. However, they only appear tonight.

As soon as they are published, we will link them in this article, as this may change later.

So Bungie has some issues back on its list that could be fixed with today’s update. It is precisely for this much-needed maintenance work and updates that the weekly server downs are so important to improve the gaming experience and keep the game up to date. Especially in Season 20, where Bungie is struggling with persistent gameplay issues.

How do you plan time during a Destiny 2 server down? Are you already done with Season 20 anyway or are you still missing something that might be blocked by a bug? Please leave us a comment here on MeinMMO.
