As a consequence of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the government announced in January 2023 that Sweden would send the Archer artillery system to Ukraine.
During Tuesday, information came that an Archer piece was hit by a Russian drone at the front in eastern Ukraine.
SVT has previously told how the Ukrainian military was trained in northern Sweden, including with instructors from the Boden regiment. Now they are fully active as they defend themselves against the Russian advance.
“Destroy the enemy’s technology and strength”
“Burst of fire” is a combat method that Archer successfully uses. Several shells fly at the same time but along different trajectories – but they hit exactly the same point.
– You can choose several goals, five or ten. The most important thing is effective destruction of the enemy’s technology and strength, says artilleryman Vadym.
