See how the Helsinki Horse Show culminated in an Irish party – the best Finn beamed at his Glamor mare: “Big heart”

See how the Helsinki Horse Show culminated in an Irish

The Consulent de Prelet Z gelding was in a class of its own on the World Cup replay track.

of Ireland Richard Hawley rode to an overwhelming and crowd-pleasing victory at the Helsinki Horse Show World Cup on Sunday. With his horse Consulent de Prelet Z, Howley cleared the mistakes of the re-track of the steeplechase in 34.18.

Howley was no less than 2.5 seconds faster than his best opponents in the replay, and Consulent crossed the obstacles with great ease.

– The replay was super successful, Howley celebrated the victory with a big smile.

– You have to do everything against the star riders of the sport, and my horse is fast. Nowadays, it is also a prerequisite for success at this level.

Germany’s Philipp Schulze Topphoff with the horse Carla NRW finished second and the top Swedish rider in the world ranking Henrik von Eckermann on the horse Dzara Dorchival in third place.

Also ranked fourth in Germany Daniel Deusser rode his horse to Bingo Ste Herme on the new course without falling.

Howley leads the World Cup Western European league after two races in total points. Von Eckermann is second, and Topphoff shares third place with France Simon Delestre with.

Good feeling about the cup

Arrived in Helsinki from his stable in Holland Eveliina Talvio reached 27th place in the World Cup with the horse Glamour. The speedy rider got 16 fault points from the four drops on the basic track.

– It was a really good feeling, even though it wasn’t a top result, Talvio assured.

– This was the first time for both of us at this level and in such a demanding arena, but I was left with the feeling that the performance can be improved from this and that the mare really has to compete at this level.

Glamor jumped well, but falls started to accumulate already at the beginning of the course.

– The first two uprights were just because the horse didn’t move, the obstacles were so big. The triple series was built to be difficult, and it showed inexperience, Talvio suffered drops.

– Falling down is the most annoying. The horse fell a little to the right and maybe started to get tired as well.

Enterprising mare

The question about the 12-year-old Glamor made Talvio laugh out loud.

– It is so wonderful, Talvio began his review.

– The mare is enterprising and there is such a sweet feeling with her that it is hard to describe. It has a big heart and it trusts me. That’s why I wasn’t even excited to go to the track today. I always feel so at home when I get on this horse.

Brazilian track champion Guilherme Jorgen the planned basic course was difficult. Eight riders survived it without mistakes.

– The track had quite technical gaps and there was very little time to get back into the rhythm if it was lost, Talvio summed up the nature of the track.

Talvio is giving Glamor a rest for the next few weeks. After that, the season continues with some “feel good” competition with obstacles of 120-130 cents.

– The goal would be to ride one more World Cup competition in November-December, Talvio said.

– The number one option is perhaps the competition in La Coruna at the beginning of December.

Ridden by a Fuzhou gelding Annina Nordström left the World Cup in the middle.

Earlier in the day Nora Pentti finished third in the five-star 145 class on the horse Con Caya, and Katja Laine won the dressage küri. Lane’s result on the horse William L was 70.850 percent.
