Hooja broke through with a bang this summer. The festival debut took place this summer when the duo stood in front of 12,000 spectators at Brännbollsyran in Umeå.
Since then the tour has rolled on and a Norrland tour is planned for next year. SVT has backed the duo and recorded a documentary.
– I think that Hooja has become so popular because people recognize it. There are sparsely populated areas throughout Sweden. They use humor and warmth and the songs are simple and catch on immediately, says the documentary’s producer Charlotte Bhatt.
