Secret identity of teenage murder suspects

The teenagers who are suspected of having shot dead a woman in Uppsala deny the crime. Although they have been detained, their identities are being kept secret due to the threat posed.
The murder is linked to an internal conflict within the Foxtrot network, according to information to TV4 Nyheterna.
– What we are seeing is extremely serious, considering exactly who is targeted, says Jale Poljarevius, head of intelligence in police region Mitt, to TT.

The teenagers, who according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office are 15 and 19 years old, were arrested on Sunday on probable cause for the murder of a woman in her 60s, who was shot dead in Gränby in Uppsala last week.

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the woman is the mother of a leading person within the Foxtrot network. The murder is said to be part of an ongoing internal conflict within the criminal network.

On the night of Sunday, there was a new shooting in Uppsala. No one was injured, but the target was the “Kurdish fox’s” mother-in-law, according to information.

The reporter the shooting death in Gränby: “Unique case”

Now the police fear more crimes as a continuation of the murder of a woman in her 60s on Thursday.

– What we are seeing is extremely serious, considering exactly who is targeted, says Jale Poljarevius, head of intelligence in police region Mitt, to TT.

– The investigation is ongoing, but the woman in her 60s is not someone we see as a conflict actor.

Not local actors

Without commenting on the data in detail, Poljarevius says that it could theoretically be about frustration when you cannot reach the person you really want to hurt.

– “I can’t get hold of my opponent, then I give up on the opponent’s nearest circle”. It is extremely serious, he says.

The police’s work to detect and prevent crimes is made more difficult by the fact that the perpetrators often come from outside, which is also the case for the two teenage murder suspects.

– It is not our local actors.

The identity of the two suspects is kept secret by the Uppsala district court, at the prosecutor’s request. The reason is that “it can be assumed that the individual or someone close to him or her suffers harm or if the information (identity) is revealed”, prosecutor Erik Grönvall writes in a comment to TT.

The district court’s decision is very unusual and indicates that the threat profile is considered particularly high. The two teenagers deny wrongdoing.
