Sebastian Wilhelmsson, 37, master chef took the jury by storm at his audition in Täby in Stockholm. He prepared a deer saddle with mashed potatoes, pepper sauce, fried black radish and black cabbage and a chutney with lingonberry, chilli and cinnamon.
The basis of the dish was a family dish that he then developed and built on.
– It’s a dish that we ate on New Year’s Eve almost all of my growing up. We hung out with the same family for many, many years and then we had that right standing. So it’s a dish I like and it suited me very well, Sebastian added News24 then.

Sebastian had to leave Sweden’s master chef in 2024
It has gone very well for Sebastian in Sweden’s master chef. He has progressed week by week and collected team wins.
But in Wednesday’s program it was no longer enough and Sebastian had to leave the semifinals of the competition as fourth in this year’s program.

In the knock-out competition, squid was to be the main raw material. Sebastian did his best, but it was Hedvig who took the last place in the quarter-finals.
– That I would reach the top four in Sweden’s master chef, I never thought, it is absolutely incredible! I am extremely proud of my performance. I am grateful and humbled that I got that chance and got to experience it, says Sebastian to Nyheter24.

But the journey has not only been a simple straight path forward, but sometimes bordered by stress and anxiety.
– Being a participant in Sweden’s master chef was, in any case, a roller coaster for me, close between hubris and anxiety. It was super fun and at the same time shitty. But all in all a wonderful journey, where I developed a lot as a person and as a cook. I have made friends for life. The entire production and the jury have been absolutely fantastic to work with, he says.

Many will miss Sebastian in the box and on a Facebook post made by TV4, several express their disappointment that he had to leave the competition.
– I have received a very nice response and cheers, nothing negative at all. Everyone is so encouraging and kind, says Sebastian to Nyheter24.
“Sebastian would have stayed better”.
“Would have liked Sebastian to stay. Was good and his squid plate looked the best (not because I eat squid but had eaten the mashed potatoes)”.
“So sad that Sebastian had to leave”.
