Two competition horses are suspected of having been abducted from a paddock in Skåne.
Frida Wismar’s daughters own the horses, whose names are Dogge and Bibbi.
– There is a lot of adrenaline right now, says Frida Wismar.
It was on Tuesday, around 07 o’clock, that the police were alerted due to two horses disappearing from a pasture in Åstorp in Skåne.
The horses had been out on summer work during the night when they disappeared. On Saturday night, the horses were still gone.
According to police spokeswoman Sara Andersson, a report of aggravated theft has been made.
– We believe that someone illegally used the horses. The border police have been contacted in the case if this is how someone wants to bring the horses out of the country, says Sara Andersson.
“Just to open the gate”
She says the police have not sent a patrol to the scene.
– The horses have disappeared so there are no tracks to secure. And it’s easy to break into a paddock. It’s just a matter of opening the gate, says Sara Andersson.
The names of the horses are Dogge and Bibbi. Dogge is a large brown gelding with white legs and blaze. Bibbi is a white pony.
– They are both competition horses and compete in jumping at a high level, says Frida Wismar, 46, whose daughters own the animals.
Thought they escaped
She says she last saw the horses when she said goodnight to them at 11pm on Monday night. When they could not be found in the pasture the next day, she initially thought they had escaped.
– At first I thought they were further away in the pasture, it is 1 hectare and the grass is tall. So I went around looking but I could not find them. Had they escaped, they would have sought out our other horses and if they had been frightened and fled, they would all have set off, says Frida Wismar and continues:
– I also called my farmer, but he had not seen anything.
Frida Wismar says that the whole family is upset after the horses’ disappearance.
– I’m panicking that they’re gone. There’s a lot of adrenaline right now. And my daughters are very upset. It feels terrible, she says.
