Sarnia rally part of wider weekend push for climate change

A rally for action on climate change, part of a North American push for change, was held Sept. 16 in Sarnia.

The 2 pm Citizens for Climate Action event, organized by Climate Action Sarnia-Lambton, was one of several rallies worldwide aimed at drawing attention to a larger march to end fossil fuels in New York the following day as world leaders gathered for the United Nation’s climate ambition summit, a local organizer said.

Group members, some carrying signs, banners and poaters, and Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu were at the Sarnia event at the Centennial Park flag court.

A CASL release called on all levels of Canadian government to address the climate crisis by supporting the transition to clean, renewable energy and the creating a sustainable clean energy economy.
