Sarah Sjöström named the year’s best swimmer in Europe – again

Not unexpectedly, Sarah Sjöström is back on the throne as swimmer of the year in Europe 2023.
She won WC gold in the 50 meter butterfly and 50 meter freestyle.
In the latter discipline, she also lowered her own world record to a time of 23.61 seconds.

Sarah Sjostrom is used to receiving the award. It is the fifth time she has been named Europe’s best swimmer

After taking home the title four years in a row, the streak was broken in 2022. Then it peaked Ruta Meilutyté.

The Swiss was named swimmer of the year on the men’s side Noah Ponti.
