Since May 8, France Télévisions has been broadcasting a new digital TV channel devoted exclusively to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It will broadcast until the end of the Paralympic Games, on September 8.

May 8 was not only marked by the arrival of the Olympic flame in Marseille: this day also corresponded – and this is obviously no coincidence! – the launch of a brand new TV channel by France Télévisions, the public audiovisual group: france.tv Paris 2024. Channel which, as its name clearly indicates, is entirely devoted to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. And which presents has many special features, in addition to being naturally free, as France Télévisions announced on its X. account.

First of all, france.tv Paris 2024 is not intended to last. It will only be broadcast between May 8, the day of the arrival of the flame, and September 8, 2024, the date of the end of the Paralympic Games. Throughout these four months, the programs will of course vary depending on the period, with live or delayed depending on the day and time. Thus, since May 9, the torch relay has been broadcast in its entirety from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and this will be the case until the arrival in Paris, throughout its route of some 1,625 km. From 7:30 p.m., it will be followed by Les Bleus dans les yeux, a series of portraits of athletes preparing for the Olympics.

In addition, viewers who are sports fans will be able to rewatch the great moments of past editions through evenings of archives. In addition to the documentaries, most of the programs will of course be devoted to live events, as soon as the events have started, from July 26 to August 11 for the Olympic Games, then from August 28 to September 8 for the Paralympic Games. Note in passing that the broadcasts will not be reserved for key disciplines such as athletics: “modern” sports such as breaking, skateboarding, climbing or surfing will also be followed.

The other great feature of france.tv Paris 2024 is multi-channel streaming: the channel will in fact be broadcast digitally on several platforms, namely the Web, on the france.tv website, but also on the boxes of Internet operators, via the application or the france.tv replay, all for free.
