THE SAND BAY. The day after the shooting death of the 25-year-old man, candles are lit with greetings at the scene of the murder.
Many are shocked and want to talk about what happened in their otherwise pleasant residential area.
– I was one of those who raised the alarm. I did CPR and everything I could but he was so badly injured, says one of the neighbors.
The day after the murder, there are hardly any traces of what happened in the underpass between the apartment buildings on Thursday evening.
The snow falls heavily on the few candles and flowers that have been laid out at the murder scene.
– I was one of those who called and raised the alarm. I heard the bangs and a woman screaming for help, so I ran out as fast as I could, a neighbor, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells Aftonbladet.

“Did everything I could
At the scene, she saw a badly injured man and a woman who was in shock and tried to help him.
– I did CPR and everything I could but it was too late, he was so injured. The ambulance was quickly on the scene and was able to take over and I have received very good support afterwards. But it is clear that I am shocked, she says.
Several neighbors pass the underpass and want to talk about what happened, few dare to be in the picture. But Annette Pettersson, who lives just a few doors away, dares, she says.
– I was standing in the window when it happened and talking to my sister on the phone. She heard the shots through the phone and called 112. I was so shocked. But I saw a person who ran quickly from the place.

Annette Pettersson has tears in her eyes and says that she is so touched by what happened in her otherwise calm and beautiful area.
– It’s someone’s son. It is absolutely terrible, she says.
Just a stone’s throw away from the underpass is both a preschool and a school.
– Many children are out playing in this area, so it was pure luck that no one was there when it happened.
The neighbor: Haven’t slept a wink
Lucy Fredin, who lives just nearby, had just put on her outerwear and was about to go out to walk her dog when she heard bangs.
– Then I heard a woman screaming for help. Then I realized quite quickly that there were shots, says Lucy Fredin.
She says that she froze when it happened and didn’t venture out until the police got there.
– I haven’t slept a wink last night, what happened is so terrible.

“Decided not to be afraid”
– Because the shooting took place in the early evening, there were many people moving around outside, says Anna-Mia Ericsson Lindelöw, who is out for a walk with her Irish-adopted dog Monika.
She never heard the shots but saw the large cordons and the many police cars that were on the scene.
– I have lived here all my life. I am a proud resident of Sandviken and I have decided not to be afraid.
