Samsung to integrate Stadia and GeForce Now into its new

Without waiting for its presentation conference at CES 2022, Samsung unveils first information on its future televisions. Soon, it will be possible to go to a new interface dedicated to video games. the Gaming Hub, as Samsung calls it, is designed for the cloud gaming. You can discover franchises available on the Stadia, GeForce Now and Utomik services (but not yet Xbox Game Pass or Amazon Luna) and launch them without having to open a third-party application. In this special interface, we will also find quick shortcuts to its PlayStation or Xbox consoles.

One controller for all services?

According to Samsung, one of the strengths of Gaming Hub is that it manages the pairing of your controllers to the different services itself. Your PS5 controller could be used on Stadia without you doing anything, which would be a major advantage of Samsung televisions (today, it takes between 30 seconds and 1 minute to disconnect a controller and pair with something else). However, everything remains very mysterious, Samsung does not explain how its technology works. It is not clear how Bluetooth controllers could be controlled by a television rather than a console while still being able to interact with said console.

For now, Samsung does not say what will be the maximum image quality supported by its televisions. Regarding the arrival of other services such as Xbox Game Pass, the Korean brand is not closing any doors.

At launch, Samsung will also propose that it qualifies from AI Gaming technology. This is a driver for… advertisements. the Gaming Hub will offer you games based on the ones you have already played. A good deal for Samsung, but a potentially annoying feature for consumers already annoyed by ads on their TV homescreen.

In the future, it is possible that the Gaming Hub is coming to older Samsung TVs. For now, only the 2022 models are guaranteed to benefit from it. Today, only LG TVs and those running Android TV natively support some streaming services.

A new interface, NFTs and a remote control

Samsung’s new Smart TVs will also have a new full-screen home screen, whereas they used to be content with a simple navigation bar. This new interface will bring together all the streaming services, a bit like the Apple TV application or Google TV. Samsung’s new televisions will also be able to display multiple HDMI sources simultaneously, watch content remotely with your friends and, more surprisingly, allow you to purchase ambient images in the form of… NFT. It’s fashion, after all.

Finally, the latest innovation that caught our attention is the introduction of a new ecological remote control. Capable of recharging by solar energy, the latter can also convert the radio waves of your internet decoder into energy to never discharge. Illusory promise or reality? The concept has the merit of intriguing.
