(Finance) – The Government has signed an agreement with the Liguria Region which unlocks further 230 million euros on works strategic in different sectors. At the signing, which took place at Genoa Boat Showthe Prime Minister present, Georgie Melons, who explained that “there are approximately 85 strategic investments.” Meloni cited the additional 29.5 million for the Basagno drainage channel in Genoa (we know something about it, a long-standing affair and a fundamental work for securing the city from hydrogeological risk), the interventions to mitigate the risk of the Entella river basin , the 83 million for the strengthening of the region especially with new roads, the completion of the new terminal of the Genoa airport, the dry dock of the port of Genoa and the adaptation of the Ventimiglia station.

“There Liguria was the fastest, as often happens, in defining thecohesion agreement – declared Meloni before signing –. But it is only the first example of a new season of the capacity that Italy will have to spend European funds. We want to represent a responsible nation, capable, when going through difficulties, of not telling the world that it wastes resources but that it is the first and best at spending those resources.”

“We are trying to ensure that Italy, which is too often at the rear in spending European funds, instead becomes a nation that sets an example in this regard” declared Meloni in his speech at the Genoa boat show. And he concluded: “theobjective is not to lose even a single euro because theItaly he can’t afford it.”

“The sea is one of infrastructure more strategic that Italy possesses”, he added. “Last week – Meloni recalled – the floor of the sea. The Government listened and collected the requests coming from the companies. And from the next budget law we will have a connection linked to the maritime economy”. “And with this connection – he assured – we will respond to the requests that come from the sector’s requests”.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by the president of Confindustria Nautica Xavier Cecchi together with the president of the Liguria Region John Totithe mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci and the prefect Renato Franceschelli.

“Based on historical research, Giorgia Meloni is the first prime minister to visit the Genoa International Boat Show since 1986, she was Prime Minister Bettino Craxi.
