According to The Hollywood Report r, the two actors are in negotiations for roles in an upcoming remake of “Ocean’s eleven”. The new version of the action comedy will take place in Europe during the 1960s and be a precursor to the star-studded coup films of the 21st century.
It was in 2001 that Warner Bros. launched the first film in the Oceans series with Steven Soderbergh as director and George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Andy García and Matt Damon in the cast. The film was in turn a remake of “Grand Slam in Las Vegas” from 1960 with big stars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.
The blockbuster “Ocean’s Eleven” brought in over $450 million worldwide and it was quickly decided to make two sequels, also with Soderbergh at the helm. In 2004 came “Ocean’s twelve” and in 2007 “Ocean’s thirteen”.
The all-female spinoff “Ocean’s 8” starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna from 2018 was supposed to be the final chapter in the coup saga, but now the concept seems to live on.
