Russia puts LGBT movement on terrorist list

The LGBT movement was added to the list of terrorists and extremists on the website of the Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation (Rosfinmonitoring).

By the decision of the Russian Supreme Court in November 2023, the LGBT movement was deemed “extremist” and its activities were banned.

With the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2022, homosexual relations in the country were included in the scope of “destructive ideas and values for Russian society”.
