Russia celebrates a day of mourning for the victims of

Muscovites have stood in long lines to donate blood to the injured. The stocks of the city’s blood banks have been filled.

In Russia, the president is celebrated on Sunday Vladimir Putin declared a national day of mourning in memory of the victims of Friday’s terrorist attack.

At least 137 people, including three children, died in the attack on the concert hall outside Moscow. The terrorist organization Isis claimed responsibility for the attack.

– My first reaction was horror. This is absolutely incomprehensible. Especially when there were children in the crowd, said someone who arrived at the memorial Farida news agency Reuters.

Throughout the day, mourners have brought flowers and candles to the ruins of the building, which rescue workers are still clearing.

About a hundred people injured in the attack are still in hospital. In Moscow, people have been queuing up to donate blood to them.

The city’s blood banks announced on Sunday that they now have enough blood in their warehouses for the next 4–6 months.
