Russia announced They will build a nuclear power plant on

Speaking at the International Youth Festival held in the Sirius Federal District in Russia’s Krasnodar Region, Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) President Yuri Borisov talked about the joint space projects they plan to carry out with China. Speaking to young people coming to Russia from many countries, Borisov said that they plan to build a nuclear power plant in space together with China and said, “We are evaluating a project to deliver and install a nuclear energy unit on the Moon surface with our Chinese colleagues in 2033-2035.”

“THERE IS NO TECHNOLOGICAL OBSTACLE”

Borisov said that the project should be implemented using robotic technologies against the risk of radiation, and added that there is no technological obstacle to the establishment of the nuclear facility. On the other hand, Borisov argued that there should not be nuclear weapons in space and said, “Space should be a place of peace that belongs to everyone. “We, as Russia, will resolutely defend this position and be in harmony with our colleagues,” he added.

Stating that they compete equally with the USA in satellite navigation systems, but Chinese navigation systems give better results than their own and the USA’s systems, Borisov said, “The world’s systems are developing. We are also developing this system. “It may seem strange, but we must admit that the Chinese Beidou system is the best system in the world,” he said.
Borisov added that their own Glonass systems compete with US GPS systems, but they are working on software to develop their own systems, and also said that their systems cover 100 percent of the world. (UAV)
