Roger Rönnberg’s anger after the unexpected move in the premiere – raged at the media: “Shrink yourself!”

Frölunda was tipped first in the regular season by a pool of experts.
But the premiere ended with a loss.
Then Roger Rönnberg got angry.
– Now you have to toughen up, said Rönnberg to a journalist.

Almost all of TV4 Hockey’s experts tipped Frölunda as one of the SHL’s basic series. So did local newspaper Göteborgs-Posten, and there are many supporters out in the country who agree that Frölunda is the team to beat during the next 51 rounds.

Angry to

But Frölunda failed to live up to the hype in the opener against Timrå at Bortais. They conceded 1-0 early on in a numerical superiority, and shortly afterwards it rang again. After the first period, the score was 3-0 – and Roger Rönnberg then chose to make an unexpected choice.

Star goalkeeper Lasse Johansson was one of the SHL’s best and most important players last season, but in the premiere he was replaced after only 20 minutes played. It didn’t help, however, as Frölunda had to go home with zero recorded points. And afterwards, Rönnberg soured at the press conference after a formulation from GP columnist Johan Rylander, who called Lasse Johansson the “first goalkeeper”.

– First goalkeeper I never told you I had? Now you have to sharpen up Rylander. The season has started, Rönnberg snapped back.

The answer to Rönnberg

However, Johan Rylander takes it all in stride. He believes that similar exchanges between him and Rönnberg are not unusual at all.

– I see the hell with him more than I see the wife, says Rylander to HockeyNews.

Johan Rylander also believes that the last word has not been said – and that he will continue to be at Rönnberg in the future as well.

– But he also gets back. I always have the last word.
