Rocket takeover starts today with new cryptos – that’s what’s inside

A new Rocket takeover launches today as part of the Halloween event in Pokémon GO. Crypto-Regigigas is the focus and you can remove the charging attack Frustration from your Cryptos. We’ll show you the event details.

Team GO Rocket takeovers regularly start in Pokémon GO. Bullies, bosses and even the leader are involved and change their strategies. This is a good opportunity for you to catch new strong cryptos and add them to your collection.

We’ll show you an overview of everything you need to know about the Rocket event in October 2023.

Rocket event from October 26, 2023 at a glance

When does it start? The event begins today, October 26th, at 10:00 a.m. It will be active until Tuesday, October 31st at 8:00 p.m.

What content is there?

  • Giovanni struggles with crypto regigigas.
  • There is also special research that rewards you with your Super Rocket Radar so that you can track down Giovanni.
  • Crypto-Lugia appears for the first time on Crypto-Raids – Available from October 29th at 10:00 a.m. to October 29th at 8:00 p.m. It is possible as Shiny.
  • Team GO Rocket uses other Crypto-Pokémon.

    • What bonuses are there?

  • At the start of the event, you will receive the “Shadow Disturbances” special research, which will reward you with a Super Rocket Radar. This allows you to fight Giovanni, who is competing with Crypto-Regirock. All tasks and rewards for special research can be found here.
  • 12km eggs hatch into Larvitar, Ganovil, Gladiantri, Skallyk, Kapuno, Pam-Pam and Molunk.
  • You can obtain Mysterious Parts from field research.
  • Team GO Rocket appears more often at stops and in balloons.
  • You can use Charge TMs to make your Crypto-Pokémon forget the Charge attack Frustration.

    • What new cryptos are there? Arlo, Sierra and Cliff will battle with other Crypto Pokémon:

  • Cliff gets Crypto Dratini*
  • Arlo uses Crypto-Knofensa*
  • Sierra uses Zobiris*

    • What are the highlights? Taking part in the event can be really worthwhile for you because there are new, strong Pokémon. Crypto-Dratini is celebrated by many because its evolution, Dragonran, is one of the best dragon attackers in Pokémon GO. The crypto version packs even more punch.

    You can also unlearn the weak attack Frustration with your Crypto-Pokémon and teach the fighters something stronger.

    Why don’t I see the new research? If you don’t see the special Field Research Showdown in the Shadows, either the event hasn’t started or you still have an old Rocket Research open that you need to complete first.
