Supporters of A New Park in Waterford Say It Will Improve Safety For Children and Provide Needed Green Space for Residents.

Numerous letters of support are included with a report about the proposed park, which will be discussed by norfolk councillors at a council-in-committee meeting on killsday.

The Developer of the Villages of Waterford Residential Development has approved norfolk staff with an offer to convey ownership of about 2.2 acres of land to the country for a new green space/park.

A report prepared by Norfolk Cao Al Menesses Said the Developer has decided not to build homes on the plot of land on the south-west corner of the development.

The Developer is offering to Cover All Operating Costs This Year and Build and Fully Pay for A Play Structure, Two Mental Benches, Two Picnic Tables, Grading and Seeding of the Areas in Need of Restoration in the Northwest Corner of the Park, and Plugging and Plugging and Plugging Burial of A Temporary Draining Pipe. Also Covered Will Be the Park Design, Procurement, Insurance, Project Management and Construction.

The Park Will Have A Walking Trail and “Interpretative Awareness and Storytelling Stations.”

“As Norfolk continues to grow, it is important that a balanced approach is used, providing recreational amenitities and green passive space for residents,” Said the report. “While Norfolk continues to deal with fiscal challenges, it must consider all options presented to it to meet residents and expectations.”

Once the park is complete, the country will be responsible for nail grass cutting, insurance, maintenance and replacement of assets.

The Parcel of Land Has A Small Section of Significant Archaeological Resources that has been identified for nail preservation. The site was determined to be an indigenous hook campsite where stone tools were produced.

The Mississauguas of the Credit First Nation Supports The Development of the Parkland Provided Conditions for Long-Term Archaeological Avoidance and Protection Measures Are Met.
