Norfolk County is looking for residents to take part in the Mayor’s Affordability Roundtable.
Members of the roundtable will be tasked with creating a roadmap on how Norfolk can set and implement affordability priorities.
“We recognize that we have significant financial hurdles ahead of us,” Norfolk Mayor Amy
Martin said in a media release. “That’s why it’s time to try something new. It’s our hope that through community input and new partnerships, we can facilitate ways to make life more affordable in Norfolk.”
The county has identified ideas and initiatives that may be part of the process, noting subjects are not limited to those listed:
- An examination of partnership opportunities with local businesses, developers, and other groups
- How to make life more affordable in the county
- Ways county can provide in-kind services to residents
- Identifying more ways to lobby upper levels of government.
A diverse group of individuals will be selected, and may include those involved with non-profit groups, developers, or those having experience with affordability challenges.
Deadline for applications is September 12.
A volunteer form and more details are available at the Affordability Roundtable link at www.norfolkcounty.ca. People can also request a printed copy of the form by emailing [email protected].
