A day after the violent riots in Brazil’s capital, it now seems that calm is about to return. And the perpetrators of violence who claim to support the former president Bolsonaro have been met with condemnation both nationally and internationally.
During the morning local time, the security forces, reinforced by military police, dismantled the tent camps that the Bolsonaro supporters erected in several places around Brasilia. And many of those who live in the Brazilian capital react very strongly to what happened yesterday:
The general opinion seems to be that what unfolded yesterday, especially the storming of the Brazilian Parliament, does not fit into a democracy.
-They don’t abide by the law. They hurt people, attacked others and destroyed things. It is criminal to do so. They crossed the line. There are other ways to express your dissatisfaction, says Ionar Bispo.
