Residents in flooded Eslöv: “We have Ringsjön everywhere”

Water everywhere.
This is how the surroundings are described at the flooded part of Ringsjön in Skåne, where the water levels are expected to continue to rise.
– It is unimaginable, says Anna Olsson Nilsson, a resident of the area.

Anna Olsson Nilsson, who lives in the flood-affected area at Västra Ringsjön, has not had a functioning sewer since Friday.

– We chose to quickly invest in a portable toilet, so we solved it because we have small children, she says and continues:

– We are referred to the bajamajors who are behind here, but it is about one and a half kilometers down here.

Yesterday, the municipality warned that according to SMHI’s forecast, the water levels are expected to continue to rise by at least 14 centimeters over the next ten days and that there is a risk that more properties will be affected.

– We have Ringsjön everywhere. That’s an enormous amount of water. Terrible, says Anna Olsson Nilsson.

“Will be a new cabin”

The emergency services do not respond because the situation is not classified as urgent, and also there is nowhere to send the water.

Anders Krondahl has a now-destroyed summer cottage, and he also describes how there is water exactly everywhere.

– For our part, we will see when there will be a new cabin again, he says.

– Our thoughts go out to those who live here permanently who now have nowhere to live.

The situation has improved for properties around the flooded Kävlingeån, but for people with properties in the area around Ringsjön, it remains to be seen.

– You don’t understand how the water can rise like this. It is unimaginable, says Anders Krondahl.
