Residents hurt cash stolen in home invasion police seek four

Police were searching Thursday for four suspects involved in an Elgin County home invasion that turned into an altercation with two people living at the home.

Elgin OPP say two Malahide Township residents were in their home on Nova Scotia Line, which runs along the Lake Erie coastline and is about 45 minutes southeast of London, at the time of the break-in on Wednesday.

Both residents were hurt but none of the injuries are life-threatening, police said. Money was stolen along with other items before the intruders fled in a vehicle, police say.

Elgin OPP say there is no threat to public safety but police are reminding all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Elgin OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
