The Wooden Hub
The Houten Hub, where 175 status holders and asylum seekers would come to live, is not there yet. The city council still has to vote on it and the buildings for the shelter are not yet there. It is also questionable whether construction is allowed at all in Houten-Oost, on a piece of pasture. The municipality has not yet applied for an exemption from the province of Utrecht for the Houten Hub.
