Residents break ground on new Petrolia playground project

A new playground project in Petrolia’s Greenwood Park got underway April 13.

Petrolia Mayor Brad Loosley, CAO/Treasurer Rick Charlebois and town staff joined representatives from the Lions Club of Petrolia, the Petrolia and Enniskillen Agriculture Society, the Petrolia Community Foundation and local group Parents for Parks for a groundbreaking ceremony of a new accessible, family- friendly playground.

Once completed, the playground will transform the park said Parents for Parks representative Emily Bright, who thanked everyone for coming out to the ceremony.

“Thank you to everyone that helped get us here,” Bright said. “We can hardly wait to see families enjoying the new playground.”
The grand opening of the playground is set to take place in the summer.
