A disturbance early Wednesday involving two people inside a vehicle and another person in the community of West Lorne led to a “shelter in place” order for residents and the arrest of a suspect who faces seven charges.

An “interaction” between the two people in the vehicle and a third person occurred on Graham Street in the community about 60 kilometers southwest of London at 1 am on Wednesday, Elgin OPP said. The two people in the vehicle left the area.
No injuries were reported and no other details about the incident were released.
A shelter-in-place advisory was issued for residents in the interest of public safety, police said.
A suspect was arrested at 3:15 am during a search that involved members of the emergency response unit and a canine team.
A 29-year-old from West Elgin is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Person injured in north London crash
One person was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a collision Tuesday in the north end of the city.
The collision happened in the area of Highbury Avenue and Huron Street, London police said in a post on X at 5:40 pm on Tuesday. An adult suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police closed Huron Street and deployed a drone during the investigation. Huron Street remained closed for seven hours.
