Parents of soon-to-be kindergarteners in the Lambton Kent district school board can now get started on enrolling their children for the next school year.

Noting the transition to school is an important milestone in the lives of young children, as well as their parents and guardians, the board says the aim is to make it as easy and welcoming as possible.

Families will also be able to check out the schools in person on two dates in February, as well as meet with teachers and administration.
“Joining one of our schools means you are becoming a part of our school family,” Ben Hazzard, the board’s superintendent of education, said.
“We are intentional about our choice to welcome your child and family to these registration and open house dates at your new school. This setup allows for you to be able to take your time, explore your future classroom, and really start to build those important relationships with our wonderful staff.”
Parents and guardians with children born in 2019 or 2020, who are looking to have their child start kindergarten in September 2024, can register in three steps:
- Visit www.lkdsb.net/kindergarten
- Fill out the online registration form
- Come to the school on one of the following dates: Thursday, Feb. 1 from 4 pm to 7 pm, or Friday, Feb. 2 from 9 am to 3 pm
