The hospital has long limped financially and this year’s deficit is estimated to be over one billion kroner.
Chairman of the board Maria Berglund says that a total of SEK 1.1 billion is to be saved, and that an action plan of the equivalent of SEK 865 million was put in place at the end of last year.
SEK 240 million
Now the gap of almost SEK 240 million must be made up in personnel costs.
Several regions are facing major savings. Region Sörmland notified 700 employees last fall and Region Värmland may possibly notify 300.
Region Östergötland ended this week with 900 employees being notified of layoffs.
