Redfall: Phil Spencer admits total failure

Redfall Phil Spencer admits total failure

After the completely failed release of Redfall, Xbox came out of its silence to comment on this bitter failure. It was through the voice of Phil Spencer that the X brand apologized to the players.

With no more than 59/100 overall rating on Metacritic, Redfall is by far the most failed release of the year 2023. In journalist memory, no big triple-A exclusive released in the last three years has generated such an outcry. . And for good reason, Xbox and Bethesda had bet big on this open-world and cooperative game, placing great emphasis on marketing campaigns on all sides. Three years and three release delays later, Redfall is released on Xbox Series and PC, limited to 30 fps on console, ineligible for a game released in 2023. Besides this small technical problem, Redfall had nothing going for it. Between catastrophic performance on PC, failed gameplay, and an uninviting universe, critics have not spared the production of Arkane studios. A catastrophic situation for Xbox which spoke on the subject through its CEO Phil Spencer during an interview for kinda funny games.

“There is nothing more difficult for me than disappointing the Xbox community. I have so many friends who have given me their feedback on the game, and seeing our community lose faith and be disappointed also disappoints me. I’m mad at myself we’re going to review our whole process I think back to the announcement of 60fps and the fact that we’re not sticking to it, it’s a blow to us, and see the game to go out in this state… The critical response was not what we wanted, and it’s very disappointing for our team.”

Good point for Xbox which recognizes the extent of the fiasco of this release. Redfall on his side is already dead and buried. A big blow for the Arkane studio and for its antenna in Austin which may suffer from this failure in the coming months.
