  • This Thursday, November 10, 2022, transport in Paris is severely disrupted by a strike at the RATP joining the national and general mobilization for wage increases. The metro lines, RER A and B, buses and the T5 tram are heavily impacted, with closed stations and reduced timetables.

Jean-Christophe Delprat, FO-RATP delegate, recalled that a certain number of employees denounced “the deterioration of working conditions” within the RATP. He indicated that this justified going on strike: “With the understaffing, whether on the bus or the metro, bosses are asking us to come back to work on our days off… This is unacceptable.”

11/09/22 – 6:55 p.m. – Telework strongly recommended in the face of the “zero metro, zero RER” objective

In a press release published on October 24, the inter-union of RATP drivers (FO, CGT, Solidaires and Unsa) announced that it had the objective of “zero metro, zero RER”. The management of the RATP “invites all travelers who have the possibility to favor teleworking or to postpone their trips on the network”.

  • Tram disruptions : almost normal traffic on the tram lines this Thursday, November 10, with the exception of T5 with 1 out of 2 trams only from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This Thursday, November 10, 2022, the RATP unions called to join the fourth day of general and interprofessional strike initiated by the CGT. The main demand is still the general increase in wages, but also to protest against the lack of staff and the working conditions which are deteriorating. “Whatever the management says, its share of responsibility is undeniable in the situation of our working conditions in perpetual deterioration due to lack of anticipation”, relates the inter-union in its press release. And to add: “The posture of immobility of the directions of the metro and the RER fertilizes a fertile ground for a conflict that our trade unions will carry and lead with determination, in connection with the driving agents.”
