of Austria Enzo Diessl became the real European champion with a time of 13.12. The EC final of high-speed fences was run in a 1.2 m/s tailwind.

– I don’t really remember the final, but I felt that the start was good and safe. Compared to the beginning of summer, it has gotten in shape. The run to the fifth and sixth fences was good, but then I think I hit the sixth fence and the pace stopped there. I then tried to get my rhythm back, but I ran into one more fence, Vehmaa said in the Sports Federation’s press release.

18-year-old Vehmaa’s previous record was improved by seven hundredths. Vehmaa had run a time of 13.30 in July in the Nordic quadriathlon in Oslo.

Besides Vehma Arto Bryggare mixed Antti Haapakoski have reached medals in the men’s 110m hurdles at the same level in 1977 and 1989.

Twin brother Kasperi Vehmaa broke his record readings in the long jump. Vehmaa jumped to fourth place with a score of 784. Vehmaa missed her record by nine cents.

– Fourth place doesn’t hurt. That was an okay result and I should have improved a lot to get a medal, but there would have been opportunities for that. Now it didn’t happen, but we’ll see next time, Vehmaa stated in the Sports Association’s press release.

Italian Mattia Furlani pushed for victory with a race record 823. Bulgarian Bozhidar Saraboyukov bent only by a centimeter and took the silver with a score of 822. 13 centimeters more than Vehmaata, the Ukrainian Nikita Masliuk was third.
