In an elephant park in central Thailand, 36-year-old female elephant Chamchuri has given birth to twin elephants.
One of the baby elephants is a boy and the other is a girl. They weigh 60 and 55 kilograms.
The nurses have described the birth of elephant twins as a miracle.
This is a very rare event
Elephants give birth to twins extremely rarely. According to the Save the Elephants research organization, the probability of twin elephants being born is one percent.
The birth of the twins also surprised the mother elephant.
