Rapper SDM was nominated in the “Song of the Year” category, before disappearing from the voting page.
The start of a controversy? Nominated in the Original Song category with the title German racing car, SDM suddenly disappeared from the list of artists competing at the next Victoires de la Musique, which will take place on February 9. This category is – it is the only one – subject to public votes. However, as several media outlets have noted, including the X account (formerly Twitter) BOP, the artist no longer appears on the page dedicated to these votes, alongside her competitors, Clara Ysé, Pierre de Maere, Zaho de Sagazan and Louane. On the same social network, journalist Emilie Mazoyer suggests that the disappearance of SDM from the list of nominees for the Victoires would follow “his refusal to perform live at the ceremony”, an essential condition to be fulfilled by the artists claiming the trophy.
