He even finds her ridiculous.Quentin Tarantino: Those who feel attacked often have a “limited mind”

Tarantino told French site La Liberation:

I reject the word “attacked” [Wort im engl. Original: “offended”] away. Anyone can feel attacked by anything. Honestly, when someone says they’ve felt offended, it usually is the first impulse of a very narrow mind. Of course there are exceptions. Art is not an attack. I can understand it on rare occasions, but feeling offended by the content of a film is just plain ridiculous.

Tarantino also shares an anecdote about a film he declined to name. He thinks the film is racist and “wanted to hit the director“, but recognize that the reaction is ultimately his own problem: “It’s just a movie“.

Like almost all directors, Quentin Tarantino has had to deal with severe criticism and distrust since the beginning of his career. One of the early Tarantino masterpieces almost didn’t appear because of it.
