Quebec woman faces fraud charges: Chatham-Kent police

A Quebecer faces fraud charges after officers were called to a Wallaceburg bank Thursday, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers were called to a Scotiabank branch after staff grew suspicious of inconsistencies with the identification of a woman trying to open a business account, police said.

Investigation revealed the woman was facing fraud charges in Ottawa, Halton Region, and New Brunswick and was barred from possessing identification not in her name by release orders from Ottawa and Saint John, NB, police

A Quebec woman, 28, is charged with fraud under $5,000, uttering a forged document, identity fraud and failing to comply with an undertaking. She was held pending a bail hearing.
