Almost 23 years ago, Elton started out on TV as Stefan Raab’s sidekick and slowly but surely became a permanent fixture at ProSieben. He also made a name for himself on the popular game show Schlag den Raab, its successor show, with his quiz Blamieren or Kassieren beat the celebrity he moderated independently from 2016. But that is over now. Because ProSieben has now separated from Elton as presenter and in the same breath announced a replacement for Schlag den Star.
After ProSieben boss Hannes Hiller thanked Elton in the station’s official announcement and explained that it “a celebration” would have been with the presenter, Elton himself wasn’t quite as forgiving. Because he spoke up in a personal post on Instagram in which he explained the reasons for his departure.
Farewell to Schlag den Star and ProSieben: A disappointment for Elton
He made it clear in his post that he did not leave the show voluntarily. Instead, he found out about the decision at short notice – and sees a clear reason behind it: “Pro7 seems to be too much for me to work at RTL. At once!!!”

In fact, the two show formats Schlag den Besten and Blamieren oder Kassieren, which Elton initially moderated on ProSieben from 2019, only moved to RTL this year. However, Elton did not make this decision alone:
Beat the best and embarrass or cash in was only offered in Pro7. After it was said that they had no money and no broadcasting space, RTL struck. Pro7 didn’t think it was necessary to call me and ask what was going on or find a solution. I’m really speechless, angry but above all extremely sad.
Elton also explained that ProSieben would not grant him a farewell show after 23 years at the station, which once again left him speechless. “Without words!!!”wrote the moderator on Instagram.
ProSieben boss Hannes Hiller compares Elton’s expulsion to football
After his first conciliatory statement, ProSieben boss Hannes Hiller now spoke again to DWDL about Elton’s involuntary departure. He described the situation clearly Football metaphor:
