Those who cross the road to Westminster, the center of London, may have passed by Prince William, who sells the Big Issue magazine, which is published to help the homeless.

The magazine is sold by “the homeless, the long-term unemployed and those who need money to pay their debts” all over London. Those who make the sale are given five free magazines to be sold for £3.

Richard Hannant snapped a photo of Prince William from afar when he saw Prince William in a Big Issue vest. Then Prince William came to his side and chatted with Hannant.

Hannant, 47, who lives in Bath but works in London, said the Prince was “amazing and friendly”.

Hannant says she was most surprised that the Prince helped sell the Big Issue on the streets just days after the Platinum Jubilee events held last weekend to mark the Queen’s 70th anniversary.

Hannant’s relative, retired policeman Matthew Gardner, stressed the same.

Sharing a photo of the Prince and Hannant on social media, Gardner wrote, “What an honor to have a special moment with our humble, future king who works quietly in the background, helping those most in need.”

Those who saw it took pictures and chatted

Lithuanian tourists Vitalijus and Laura Zuikauskas, who came to London for the jubilee events, also met the Prince and posed for a photo.

“We bought the magazine and had a warm conversation,” said Vitalijus. “We wished him luck and shook hands. We were thrilled that the royal family showed interest in ordinary people.” He stated that the future king had a “warm personality” and that they were really happy to meet him.

Another social media post was made by taxi driver Neil Kramer. In the photo, Prince William was posing with another Big Issue seller.

Kramer says that while he was charging his taxi in the Westminster area, a Big Issue vendor walked up to him, introduced himself as Prince William, and asked if he’d like to buy the magazine.

Shocked to see who it was, Kramer of course bought a magazine. Prince William then introduced the other Big Issue seller next to him and the three chatted for about 15 minutes.
