Described as the YouTube of porn or erotic content, the Pornhub platform becomes responsible for the content it hosts with the agreement reached with the New York court.

For a long time, the parent company Aylo Holdings, founded in Montreal in 2004, refused to acknowledge its responsibility for the videos found on the site.

As early as 2016, some women requested the removal of videos from the platform which turned a deaf ear. Until 2019, the owners would have received money from the porn company GirlsdoPorn.

Motivated by profit, Aylo Holdings knowingly enriched itself by turning a blind eye to the concerns of victims who told it they had been deceived and coerced into participating in illegal sexual activities, it said. the deputy director of the FBI who investigated.

In addition to paying $1.8 million to the American authorities and compensating the victims, Pornhub will find itself under the surveillance of an independent monitor for three years.
