Police hunt for A-tractor with seven young people in Söderhamn

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

When the police tried to stop a car for a check on Saturday night, the driver refused to stop and tried to drive away from the check. Then the police chose to pursue the car – several patrols and a helicopter took part in the chase along the major roads south of Söderhamn, including the E4, and west towards Bollnäs.

Not until the chased car drove over one of the police’s nail mats after about half an hour did they manage to stop it just east of Kilafors. Then it also turned out that the vehicle was in fact an A-tractor.

– The patrols thought it was an ordinary car they were chasing because the car did not have any signs that say it is an A-tractor, says Thomas Bertze, RLC commander at police region Mitt to TT.

Fully crammed into the vehicle

The driver was a 15-year-old boy, and he also had six minor passengers with him, reports Thomas Bertze at the police regional command center Mitt. The boy is now suspected of illegal driving, drugged driving and carelessness in traffic. The police took him for testing.

– It was not a good decision to leave us. It was pure luck that no one was hurt. Fortunately, the roads were very quiet with traffic, says Thomas Bertze to TT.

All the young people were handed over to guardians, while the A-tractor was seized.
