Ridgetown woman accused of attacking former partner with knife

On Saturday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a suspicious person call on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Multiple calls were received describing a man wearing a mask and carrying a homemade spear strapped to his back.

The suspect was located, and it was determined he was on a condition not to possess any weapon.

He was arrested, transported to headquarters, and later released with a short date.

Early Sunday, emergency crews responded to Dawn Mills Road for a single-vehicle collision.

The driver, a 23-year-old Dresden man, was transported to hospital for minor injuries. The officer believed the man to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.

He was charged with having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and operation while impaired. He was released with conditions and a short date.

Audience intoxication

Police responded to a suspicious person call Saturday afternoon on Wellington Street in Chatham.

Upon arrival, police located the man. He was intoxicated and unable to care for himself, police added.

The 39-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to headquarters. He was held until he was sober.
