Polar Plunge for Special Olympics on Saturday

First responders from Brantford and Brant County will be “freezin for a reason” on Saturday.

That’s when they will gather at Brant No. 2 fire station at 3 Airport Rd. to participate in Polar Plunge 2023, a fundraiser for Special Olympics.

Participants will be dunked into a bin filled with ice-cold water. The bin is donated by Brantford Bin Rental.

Among those invited to take part will be representatives of Brantford police and fire, Brant OPP and fire and Brant-Brantford paramedics.

The event, from 10 am to 2 pm, is open to the public.

A shallow reservoir pool will be set up for those who wish to participate but aren’t ready to do the “big dunk,” organizers said.
