Pokémon GO: Community Day Classic with Squeak

In Pokémon GO, Community Day Classic with Squeak is coming up on April 29, 2023. We look at the content, bonuses, and what to watch out for.

What is this event? The Community Day Classic works similar to the “normal” Community Day, where a specific monster is put in focus for several hours.

The “Classic” variant always brings a monster that already had a regular Community Day. Players who missed it or who started Pokemon GO later can secure it including its Shiny variant.

In April 2023 it’s the monster Quiekel. And the event should also be worthwhile for players who do not yet have a strong example.

What? Community Day Classic with Quiekel
When? Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
Pokemon of the day: Squeak spawns almost everywhere in the wild
Exclusive attack: The Instant Attack Ancient Power. Evolve Keifel into Mamutel for this, between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Bonuses:
– Triple Catch Stardust
– Smoke and Lure Modules last 3 hours
– Snapshot surprises
– A special research also ends up in the shop for 1 euro

The level 4 special raids that were last used at Community Days will not be available at Community Day Classic.

For whom is the Community Day Classic with Quiekel worthwhile?

Squeaky is no longer a rare Pokémon in that sense, it has appeared regularly in recent years. However, the original Community Day with Quiekel was more than 4 years ago, it took place in spring 2019.

It’s quite possible that some players didn’t notice it. So the mere possibility of having a good shot at the Shiny Quiekel is sure to be of interest to some.

How strong is Quiekel? That’s the second good argument for the event: Squeaky’s last evolution, Mamutel, is one of the most useful Pokémon in the game.

Both the ice type and the ground type, Mamutel is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. This is especially true for the powerful Crypto Mamutel, which could be obtained through Rocket Battles.

If you have a Crypto Quiekel, -Keifel or -Mamutel, you can collect the necessary candies on Community Day to make it really strong.

Here’s how to prepare for the Community Day Classic

The correct Mega Pokémon: If you have a suitable Mega Evolution active during the event, you’ll get extra candies for every squeaky you catch.

Since Squeak is of the Ground/Ice type, the following Mega Evolutions are suitable:

  • Mega Steelix
  • Mega Sumpex
  • Mega Firnontor
  • Mega Rexblisar

    • Remember: The higher the mega level, the better bonuses you get.

    Make space: If you want to significantly increase your supply of Squeaky Candy, you will have to catch a lot of monsters. Prepare space in the collection for this. Use the filter function: With the search term

    the game only shows you monsters that are worse than 2 stars.

  • Piece of Star: With this you can increase the bonus stardust again.
  • Pineapple Berries: This way you get more candies when you catch them.
  • Smoke & Lure Module: Light them at the start of the event to get the full three hours. Not previously!
